This forum will involve sports ministers all over the Caribbean region
Jamaica’s sports minister, Olivia Grange, recently revealed that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) meeting will be hosted in the country’s capital Kingston next month.
This forum will involve sports ministers all over the Caribbean region. Witold Banka, the president of WADA, will also be in attendance.
Grange stated that this will be the second WADA meeting targeting Caribbean sports ministers coming a few months after the October online forum. The online forum saw Jamaica work with WADA to offer technical advice to other nations since Jamaica is considered the region’s leader in anti-doping. The upcoming forum scheduled for January 26th and 27th will pick up from where they left off in October.
Grange further revealed that a few delegates will pay a visit to the facilities of the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission to aid in their study.
The minister also stated that the meeting will formulate a plan to implement anti-doping across the Caribbean region. The forum is expected to be attended by 19 sports ministers along with their representatives.
