This will be his seventh consecutive term
The members of the West Indies Players’ Association recently elected Wavell Hinds as their president. This means that this will be his seventh consecutive term.
They also re-elected all the members of the executive team in an election that was held during the annual general meeting. Additionally, the WIPA members also appointed their second female director.
The Women’s Super 50 Cup coincided with the AGM meeting. This allowed players to see how the association works. They now have a deeper understanding of what is expected of them. The institution has had many achievements in the past year.
The incumbent leadership team was unanimously re-elected. They will be in office until 2027.
Hinds was re-elected unopposed. He has been a dominant force in the institution since 2011.
He will lead together with other officials like Vice-president Nixon McLean, treasurer Ridley Jacobs, assistant secretary Liam Sebastien and honorary secretary Wayne Lewis.
Additionally, Rashada Williams will serve as the second non-elected director. The board will be completed by Shakera Selman.
Hinds, who will also serve as the CEO of the institution, was thankful that the members continue to show him for the continued trust.
“My leadership will prioritize the needs of all the players and membership. I would like to use this opportunity to welcome our new director Ms Rashada Williams. I believe that she will be successful in the upcoming term.”
