She is currently the highest scorer in the WSL this season
Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has been honored as October’s Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month. Shaw has displayed an outstanding performances throughout a month that has seen her club Manchester City have a very successful run as they won all three games against Liverpool, Tottenham and Leicester.
During the matches, City were on target a total of 9 times but only one goal went past the team’s defence. Shaw brags of one assist and five goals so far. She is currently the highest scorer in the WSL this season.
Shaw defeated Mary Earps and Leah Galton of Manchester United; Dagny Brynjarsdottir of West Ham; Lauren James of Chelsea as well as Frida Maanum of Arsenal to receive the honour. The Jamaican’s career is still promising as the club started November on a high note by beating Reading 3-0.
Shaw revealed that this was her first time winning this award and she was very pleased and grateful to her fans for voting for her. Everyone in the club also congratulated her.
On Sunday 11th December, City will host a game against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium from 12:30 (UK time).
