Blake is expected to face off against Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala of Kenya, Olympic champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs and American Noah Lyles
Yohan Blake will be competing in the Wanda Diamond League event today. The World Athletics Championships gold medalist will be competing against tough opponents in the men’s 100m race. He has been making a gradual improvement in recent events.
Blake is coming off a season’s best of 10.05 seconds. Other Jamaicans who will be competing include quarter-miler Candice McLeod, 800m runner Natoya Goule and shot-putter Danniel Thomas-Dodd.
Blake is expected to face off against Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala of Kenya, Olympic champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs and American Noah Lyles. He will also compete against double World Under-20 champion Letsile Tebogo.
On the other hand, Thomas-Doddwho will face off against Americans Chase Ealey and Maggie Ewan. The World Athletics ranks the Americans ahead of Thomas-Doddwho. Thomas-Doddwho is ranked third in the world. Her national record is 19.77m.
Goule will be competing against a familiar rival in Ajee Wilson. Wilson’s boasts of the best time at 1:59.01 seconds.
The 400m race will feature McLeod as well as Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone(400m hurdles American world record holder) and Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser-Bahrain.
